Specificity and Comments:
CD23 is a 45kDa glycoprotein that acts as a receptor for IgE. It is expressed by interleukin-4 activated B-lymphocytes and also by activated macrophages and a proportion of follicular dentritic cells. CD23 has been shown to be useful for the differentiation of small lymphocytic lymphomas and mantle cell lymphoma.
